This had the makings of a good tale and I will read the following books in the series. However, the plot leaves a lot to be desired. There are too many plot threads, working at cross purposes. As a result the protagonist flits around in a disconnected and unbelievable way. Additionally, character development suffers as the authors struggle to deal with the demands of the various plot threads.Product details

This was a great book. It was full of fun and magic, and it held the hint of innaproprietism (I know thats not a word) that makes it funny. The other day I read the Aster Wood series. It was amazing. But it had nothing compared to this. This was great. I loved it. And can I please be in the next book? Can I be an original purist Jack finds on the street. And can his name be Chase Jones. You are a great author. Please consider my request, as I am the first reviewer ;). Keep writing.
Its a enjoyable first book although its seems to missing that "something" that makes you not want to put the book down. It will be interesting to see how this develops
While not the best it has several interesting ideas and is well written if you need a book to read on a rainy day this is a good one.
So the thing about writing a mystery is that there needs to be an aha moment where things are revealed. That, or better yet they get revealed in the last quarter of the book and then there's a twist at the end. This story builds with a lot of questions and a lot of plot lines. As I was reading I figured the author would finish this story strong and then follow one of the other plot lines in the next book. That doesn't happen, there are no answers. In the author's apparent desire to start a series he decided to drag things out. I see this a bit in the middle of a series, but rarely in a first book. It's infuriating. At the end of this book I felt like I wasted my time reading it. I wont be reading any sequels.
